Eden® Organic Buckwheat is organically grown on Nebraska family farms. Despite its name, buckwheat is not wheat but the seed of a broad leaf plant related to rhubarb. Buckwheat is a good source of fiber and protein providing all amino acid including the essential ones.
Eden® Organic Buckwheat is a very versatile grain. It can be served hot as breakfast porridge as a main dish for lunch or dinner and in soups and stews. Leftover cooked buckwheat can be used to make stuffed cabbage rolls, pierogi, grain burgers and croquettes. Stir fry it with any small cooked pasta such as elbows and ditalini to make 'kasha varnitshkes' or serve it chilled in salads such as tabouli.
